2020
Phase 1
The Beginning

Foundation Year

BJ Progressive Academy was founded in Lagos with 25 young players training on a community pitch in Agege. Academy vision defined: non-residential grassroots development with a clear professional pathway for ages U11–U18.

2021
Phase 2
First Steps

First Competitive Season

Entered local league competition for the first time. Established the academys core training philosophy — built around technical discipline, tactical awareness, and character development. CAC business registration completed.

2022
Phase 2
Official Recognition

NFF & State FA Affiliation

Secured official affiliation with the Nigeria Football Federation and Lagos State Football Association. Expanded our age group structure from U11 all the way to U18 and significantly increased squad capacity.

2023
Phase 3
Growing Roots

Training Base at Agege Stadium

Moved primary training operations to Agege Stadium. Began formal partnerships with local schools for talent identification and academic support, reinforcing the academys non-residential development model.

2024
Phase 3
Professionalization

CAF-Licensed Coaching Team

Hired CAF A and B licensed coaches as part of a professional staffing overhaul. Introduced structured tactical sessions, match video analysis, goalkeeping-specific training, and a dedicated strength & conditioning program.

2025
Phase 4
Expanding Reach

Scouting Network & Digital Launch

Launched digital player management portal and built out a scouting network spanning Lagos and neighboring states. Multiple academy players attracted serious interest from professional clubs. International exposure program initiated.

2026
Phase 5
Present Day

Growth & Sustainability

Continuing to build sustainable revenue through registration fees, corporate sponsorships, and academy branding. Focus on upgrading facilities, establishing youth education partnerships, and scaling toward international affiliation with African and European clubs.
